Roots of Our Heritage

This drawing, Roots, Family Traditions: Roots of Our Heritage,the American Experience, shows a strong tree with many generations or descendants flowering in its branches. In its trunk are a mother and child. In its roots are our ancestors. If one looks, one can find a Viking, Christopher Colombus, Presidents, Pilgrims, colonial figures, frontiersman, cowboy, an Indian, and others representative of our Nation's collective history. My interest in family genealogy and my roots inspired me to think about all our family histories and traditions and how each generation builds on those who came before. Roots depicts America itself growing from the foundation of its discoverers and colonial founders.
